My name is Sammy Harper, and I'm the creator of Pixel Planet Today. As part of the project, I pair facts about the planet with pixel art graphics, helping to raise an appreciation for nature. I've been creating environmental pixel art since 2019, and I hope to continue well into the future. 😊🌎

While environmental injustices, as well as many climate crises, are complex in their nature and potential solutions, they revolve around one single question: are we 'together'? With environmental justice, boundaries are placed between those that are of color, lower-income, or otherwise disadvantaged; and those of higher economic/societal standing. These barriers not only form situations where polluters more easily create toxic environments for those groups, but further segregate the categories. If instead, we came 'together' as a species, not only would environmental injustices seize to exist, but we could also more effectively tackle the countless other issues that stand before us. My design submission highlights just how our world would flourish if we were to come together, allowing all ecosystems to thrive.
